NJ Conference on Tourism Brings Information and Positive Outlook To A Changed Industry

The statewide organization, NJTIA brought together leaders to discuss the many challenges that hit one of New Jersey's top industries.

TRENTON, N.J. - Dec. 18, 2020 -- The New Jersey Tourism Industry Association took on the task of bringing their popular, long standing conference virtually as COVID restrictions prevented the annual event to take place in person. " The NJTIA took everything into consideration when planning this event" says coordinator Laura Slomka who worked with 2020 Conference Committee led by Co chairs Judy Ross, President of NJ Destination Marketing Organizations and Alex Heimann, CEO of Tempest. The organization successfully brought together 230 attendees that included 15 speakers, 14 students and 24 sponsor companies.

Popular presentations that took place over the December 2 and 3 livestream included opening remarks from Governor Phil Murphy, Tourism Economics featuring NJ Numbers by Adam Sacks of Tourism Economics, and much needed resources included Self Help Tourism Recovery, Motor coach moving Forward, The future of Air Travel, Strategies for Building an Inclusive Tourism Organization, Legislative updates from NJTIA Executive Director Joseph Simonetta , remarks from NJ Secretary of State the Honorable Tahesha Way, NJ Division of Travel and Tourism Executive Director Jeff Vasser as well as a panel discussing COVID Best Practices for 2020. One of the highlights was a mailed direct conference goodie box to be used for the online networking session.

NJTIA is the statewide leader representing every facet of New Jersey's multi billion tourism industry. The host several advocacy and recognition events each year and provide legislative resources to their members.
